MISSION

×

The purpose of this web radio is to showcase the work of students who are interested in sharing their own sound pieces, transmission artworks, podcasts, and any other forms of audio content relating to DIY, experimental or non-mainstream arts. IMCA RAYDEEOH's live stream will be accessible on a website, along with an archive of past shows and links to the personal portfolios of the showcased artists. IMCA RAYDEEOH will accept material from any student, no matter their identity or level of experience, as long as their content puts forward and empowers marginalized or non-mainstream ideas or views and does not promote any violent, discriminatory or oppressive behavior (as explained in the policies section).

MANDATE

×

IMCA RAYDEEOH is a web radio founded by Intermedia students at Concordia University, which is located on unceded Kanien'kehá:ka territory. IMCA RAYDEEOH is available for active participation from all students of the Fine Arts Faculty and accessible for listening to anyone with an internet connection. This project serves as a platform for artists to create and promote their work outside of the context of a campus radio station, art gallery or artist run center, while still operating within the context of the Concordia University community.

VALUES

×

RESPECT + ACCOUNTABILITY
IMCA RAYDEEOH does not own the content sent or aired by the artists, meaning that students retain ownership of their material. If aired, they have the right to approve or refuse the archival of their content for future reference. As members of IMCA RAYDEEOH we are committed to maintaining open communication with all listeners and participating artists. We welcome feedback and suggestions regarding the programming and operation of the radio. IMCA RAYDEEOH actively works toward making a positive and welcoming online space for all. IMCA RAYDEEOH is a project taking part at Concordia University, which is located on unceded Indigenous lands. The Kanien'kehá:ka Nation is recognized as the custodians of the lands and waters on which we gather today. Tiohtiá:ke/Montreal is historically known as a gathering place for many First Nations. Today, it is home to a diverse population of Indigenous and other peoples. We respect the continued connections with the past, present and future in our ongoing relationships with Indigenous and other peoples within the Montreal community.

INCLUSION + ACCESSIBILITY
The purpose of IMCA RAYDEEOH is to offer a platform for students with ideas that extend beyond the realm of mainstream and polished sound practices and into more amateur, activist, DIY and experimental approaches. It is in IMCA RAYDEEOH's mission to render the web radio accessible for any student enrolled in Fine Arts, regardless of their identity or their level of experience with sound. We are aware of the inequality issues in the sound industry and are hoping to create a space that will counteract this problem by making this web radio accessible. We strongly encourage QTBIPOC, students with disabilities and students from any social or economic background to submit their work.

We welcome any and all feedback on the accessibility of our platform.

POLICIES

×

While IMCA RAYDEEOH encourages any student enrolled in Fine Arts to apply with their original content, we will not accept any material that supports violent, discriminatory or oppressive behavior such as (but not limited to) racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, ableism, ageism and religion or culture discrimination.

IMCA RAYDEEOH will only accept original and non-commercial projects and will refuse any content that utilizes copyrighted material. This said, IMCA RAYDEEOH recognizes the importance of engaging with and making political and social commentary on mainstream media, and as such will accept works that fall within the realm of fair-dealing when it comes to remixes and mashups, parody and satire.

Ideas presented in our programming are solely those of the artists, and do not reflect the views or politics of IMCA RAYDEEOH. IMCA RAYDEEOH will do its best to monitor the activity of the radio, but is not in a position to vet all content before it airs. If you find any issues with some of the content aired, feel free to contact IMCA RAYDEEOH by email and the organizers will revise and mediate the situation as soon as possible.
